Zombie Horde Attacks: How to Survive and Defend Your Base

When the zombie hordes descend upon your base, you’ll need to act fast to defend it! The undead legions will stop at nothing to overrun your location, so make sure you’ve planned ahead.

Fortify your defences

Reinforce your walls and set up barriers like barbed wire to slow down the zombie advance. Auto turrets are extremely useful for mowing down zombies from a distance. Place a few around the perimeter of your base, especially covering sections you can’t guard personally. Spikes, traps and mines scattered around the outside will damage zombies before they even reach your walls.

Fall back when overrun

If hordes start pouring into your base, fall back to a secure inner location. An underground cave or bunker is ideal. Zombies have a hard time navigating tunnels, so you can pick them off as they try to follow you. As a last resort, have an escape vehicle ready to flee to another map location. Changing locations every few horde attacks will keep you on your toes and force the zombies to adapt.

Use the terrain

The layout of the land around your base can be used to your advantage. Find natural obstacles like rivers, cliffs or boulders and funnel the zombies through a narrow passage. This makes them easier targets and prevents them from surrounding you. High ground also gives you the upper hand, allowing you to rain fire down upon the horde from a defensible position.

Useful Tips and Strategies for Fighting Zombies

The horde is approaching - time to put those zombie survival skills to the test! When facing down a swarm of zombies, follow these tips to make it out alive:

Aim for the head

One shot to the head usually kills most zombies. Their brain is the only part of their undead body that’s still functioning, so destroying it will stop them in their tracks. Save your ammo and take your time to line up headshots.

Know your weapons

Learning the reach and impact of each weapon is vital for taking down zombies efficiently. A baseball bat may seem quiet but requires getting up close and personal. A shotgun can take out multiple zombies at once but has limited range. Find what works for your style and stick to it.

Use explosives

Pipe bombs, grenades and Molotov cocktails are extremely useful for breaking up amassing zombies at your gate. Toss an explosive into a group and then pick off any stragglers to thin the horde with minimal danger. Just be careful - you don’t want the explosion to take you out too!

Keep moving

Never stop moving when zombies are approaching. Continuously backpedal or strafe sideways while firing at heads to avoid getting cornered. If there are too many to handle, make a run for it! Zombies may be undead but they’re not very fast. Put distance between you and then regroup to take them on again.

Work as a team

Surviving a zombie apocalypse is difficult alone. Team up with other survivors and work together to defend your base. Have someone draw the zombies’ attention while another person sneaks up from behind. Watch each other’s backs, share resources and combine your skills to overcome the undead masses.

Following these useful tips and strategies will have you well on your way to becoming a zombie-fighting pro! Stay sharp, trust your instincts and never give up - you’ve got this! The horde doesn’t stand a chance against your will to survive.
