Crafting In Enshrouded: Everything We Know
Introduction
We have been playing the demo of Enshrouded for months now and have been gathering data and information on crafting in Ensrhrouded and have put together this guide on everything we know so far. Here is everything we know about crafting on Enshrouded server hosting.
Crafting Essentials: Kiln, Forge, and Workbench
The Kiln, Forge, and Workbench form the core of crafting in Enshrouded. The Kiln is necessary for producing charcoal, which is a vital material for upgrading weapons and armor. By burning wood in the Kiln, players can smelt charcoal after a real-time wait. The Forge then uses charcoal along with metal scraps looted in the world to produce metal sheets required for heavy armors. An active Forge gives access to high-level gear.
Finally, the Workbench serves as the central station for crafting basic necessities like tools, furnishings, and structural pieces used in building. With access to a Workbench, players can craft grappling hooks, furniture, walls, foundations, and many other items needed for survival and base-building. Having all three of these crafting stations fully built and powered allows rapid advancement in Enshrouded's progression systems. The Kiln, Forge, and Workbench form the basic triangle of crafting essentials.
Specialized Crafting Stations
In addition to the core Kiln, Forge and Workbench, Enshrouded also has specialized stations like the Alchemist Table for crafting potions, oils, and magical items using reagents. The Loom allows tailoring cloth armors and materials from various gathered fibers and animal drops. Advanced architectural pieces like columns and arches require the Stone Cutter station. And the Carpenter's Bench enables crafting of furniture, tools and complex wood structures beyond planks.
Structural Crafting
Using both voxel placement of individual blocks as well as snap-fit blueprints, Enshrouded focuses heavily on structural creation. Foundations, walls, windows, doors, stairs, and roofs can be quickly laid with blueprint patterns or painstakingly chiseled out voxel-by-voxel. An abundance of decorations, props, furniture pieces and themed ornamentations make personal player housing highly customizable too.
Progression Crafting
When it comes to gear, players start with rudimentary weapons and leather/scale armors early on, unlocked at stations like the Blacksmith. But through a combination of rare monster drops, multi-component recipes and upgrade systems, gear can be continually improved by weaving runes and special materials into the crafting processes. This incremental progression crafting is core for player power growth.
Resource Gathering
Raw materials are the lifeblood of a crafter, thus lumber harvesting, mining outcroppings, slaughtering mobs, stripping anatomy, and collecting from provision containers litter the world. Farming crop beds also allows reliable, renewable harvesting of key ingredients at a player’s personal base. Managing this supply gathering, balancing48 routes and targeting objectives makes efficient use of time.
Crafting Economics
As character levels rise, so does the potential properties of loot items, often increasing value substantially if utilitarian properties like armor absorption or damage improve. These ever-escalating gear tiers establish an artisanal economic ecosystem, which can also be part of trade interactions with human and AI merchants. Establishing a crafting business specialization could be lucrative.
Crafting Optimization
With some refining processes like smelting metals or tanning hides using the Kiln taking over 5 minutes in real-time, optimization of the crafting system is important. Setting up sequential steps, having stockpiles of materials prepared, and laying out stations in efficient physical arrays can help minimize downtime. Perfecting this crafting workflow leads to greater productivity long-term across the crafting system’s many artisan options in Enshrouded.
