Hardmode Town NPCs
These NPCs in Terraria are super helpful little characters that can set up shop in your town! They offer all kinds of useful goods and services to aid you on your adventure.
Wizard
Unlocked after defeating the Wall of Flesh, the Wizard sells magical items and spells. Catering to players with a penchant for the arcane, his offerings provide an edge in Terraria's mystical battles, adding a magical dimension to gameplay.
Tax Collector
This dapper fellow will spawn during the Solar Eclipse event. Chat with him and he’ll move into an empty house, allowing you to collect taxes from other Terraria NPCs in exchange for money. The more NPCs in your world, the more tax money you’ll earn each day!
Truffle
The Truffle moves into your above-ground mushroom biome and sells you mushroom-themed gear. After defeating Plantera, he gains the ability to summon exploding mushrooms that damage enemies. He gets stronger with each boss beaten, eventually being able to deploy multiple mushrooms at once.
Pirate
To get a seafaring Pirate to weigh anchor in your world, you’ll need to defeat a Pirate Invasion. Build a house near the coast so this swashbuckling Terraria NPC can gaze out at the open sea. The Pirate offers a selection of cutlasses, flintlocks, cannons and other piratey paraphernalia.
Steampunker
Once you’ve beaten one of the mechanical bosses, the Steampunker will arrive in her airship. Provide a sky house for this quirky tinkerer to set up shop. She sells teleporters, jetpacks, and other futuristic gadgets that will make exploring your world a breeze.
Ghost
Once you defeat the Pumpkin Moon event, the spooky Ghost NPC has a chance to spawn. Give this see-through spectre a home and he’ll sell you ectoplasm and spooky gear to keep the Halloween spirit going all year round!
Cyborg
The post-Moon Lord Lunar Events will introduce the Cyborg, a half-human, half-robot Terraria NPC. House this futuristic friend and he’ll sell you end-game gear like the S.D.M.G. and Luminite bullets.
Santa Claus
A Terraria NPC merchant emerges following the Frost Legion's defeat, exclusively during the festive season spanning December 15 to December 31 or December 1 to January 15. Alternatively, players can unlock him for an in-game day outside these dates by conquering the Frost Moon event. Unfortunately, his presence is temporary, and he perishes once the season concludes.
Princess
The Princess, a Terraria NPC vendor, materializes under specific circumstances:
- An unoccupied house is available.
- All town NPCs (excluding Santa Claus and pets) must be present, requiring Plantera's defeat, allowing room for the Cyborg NPC.
Armed with the Resonance Scepter, she autonomously fends off nearby threats.
